About Diwali

Diwali is one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in India and among Indian communities worldwide. Often referred to as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Celebrations include cleaning and decorating homes, wearing new clothes, exchanging gifts and sweets, and gathering with family and friends. People perform religious rituals, offer prayers to deities such as Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth) and Ganesha (the remover of obstacles), and set off fireworks to mark the occasion.
